Regia, Trekking and Opal -- Oh MY!

Got a lovely package today, just full of LOVELY new things from Opal, Trekking and Regia!

Pictures to come tomorrow when I am hopefully a bit more alive than I am right now -- woke up a bit ago with 104.5º fever, freezing cold and feeling quite a bit like I am going to die.....Yep, it's the flipping FLU!

So what's a girl to do but knit, while the meds kick in, right??

I've started a new sock in the brightest color I have ever seen from Opal! Their new collection is SMASHING -- it's called Neon, that should give you some idea as to the colors! And there is also a new PINK Trekking that I just fell in love with too, and I was never in to pink before I started knitting a couple of years ago. I don't know what got in to me??

And Regia has a new line that's EXTREMELY limited that I was lucky enough to get my hands on called SURPRISE, where you never know what you're going to get when you knit it! t can differ from spots, stripes to a pooling effect -- depends, I would imagine, on your gauge, needle size and where you begin on the skein! Can't wait to try that one either! All I need are a few more hands and a few more hours in the day....maybe the flu moving on would help too! Oscillo and Air Borne watch out, here I come!

Here is a little peek at the NEON I am working on!

Here he is! DERF, my magical, mystical Llama from whose lovely fleece I will try to spin the yarn to knit myself a sweater...maybe. I hope!! Look at that sweet face!!!

Wish me luck and thanks, Derf!!

Llama, mama!

One of these lovely Llamas gave up his coat to send me almost two pounds of lovely pencil roving that I will try to spin in to yarn for a sweater!

I have a ton of practicing to do before I try my hand at this stuff. I've never done any spinning before, and I sure hope I can do it! Please send good thoughts!

Ellen = Love

You know, the more I watch her show...the more I love that woman! She's not only funny, she is one of the most kind hearted people on TV!

She just spoke with a young man that is going to join the armed forces (can't remeber the branch, sorry Michael!) and the conversation was heartwarming! You could just hear how thrilled this kid was to be speaking with her -- and she invited him to the show and said she would dance with him when they were there (one of his dreams).

How many celebrities do you know that would do that for someone?? She's an amazing woman!

Speaking of amazing women, my old boss and amazing friend Renee, who I have not spoken with for at least 25 years, contacted my mother today looking for me! It will be GREAT to be able to speak with her again. I can't wait until tomorrow! We touched base briefly via email, but there is nothing like a long heart to heart to make up for lost time!

Malabrigo....From Cindy!!

Pictures don't even begin to do this color justice. I fell in love the moment I saw this for sale on KH and just had to have it! It's a color I have never seen for sale at any retailer before, and in person, it has a bit of green in it as well that you can just barely see if you look really closely at the bottom of the skeins towards the right hand sides.

I am looking for a pattern for some sort of cowl collar or something that is close to your neck...I am not even sure exactly what I want, really! I just wish there was enough for a whole sweater! This stuff is sooooo soft and yummy!

Thanks, Cindy! For the great deal, and the score on a color I've never seen before! I hope you don't mind I lifted your photo, since it's about 10000000 times better than anything I could have done here!

Yes, it really is that........

Orange!!!! I think I can be pretty certain he won't be missed while hunting in this hat.

Of course, the picture sucks -- I have to set up a light box and practice....a LOT....but you can sort of see the stitches anyway, can't you?

Posh Yarn = HEAVEN!

Oh MY! Tell me this isn't heaven!?!?!?!

I met a new friend today who (UNFORTUNATELY, and I say this only because I don't NEED another favorite yarn maker!!) has turned me on to a FABOO new source for some of the most gorgeous (sock) yarn ever created, as you can see by this photo. Thanks a whole lot, Elaine!! (of course, I am just kidding, I LOVE this site!!)

Would you look at those colors? Can you imagine looking down at your feet and seeing this? Ok, perhaps not practical in 100% silk, but I don't care! I can use them as bed slippers! (and she's got some other lovely merino/silk blends that are pretty impressive as well!!)

Oh, to be RICH and able to afford to buy every yarn I fall in love with!

To see more of what this very talented artist have to offer, please visit Posh Yarns in the UK - Can you say YUMMY!

You can file this one under lavish sock yarn I must have (smile)

I also just got an order of a Cashmere/Merino blend that I cannot wait to open (can't do it until I find some room though) I also I promised myself that I would finish this hat first, since Chris leaves on Saturday and I know I will have to cast on that Cashmere the minute I open the box!

I have a feeling there will be another message much like this one being posted next...if the yarn looks ANYTHING like it did in the auction pics that is!

That's it for now. Two posts in two days is more than I can handle! I just didn't want to lose this link, and this is the only place that I can be sure that I will be able to find things lately. Too bad I can't store yarn here too.....

Boring knits!

But at least I am knitting! Depression has been the word of too many days -- at least I can add knit to this day :) I am working on a BORING st st with ribbing BRIGHT orange hunting hat for my bro. The one that made it possible for me to upgrade to this spiffy new version of blogger (by selling me his "old" (only about 2 years!!! Mine was TEN!!!) laptop.) And for a steal too! I owe him :) Thanks, Chris! LOVE the updated, MUCH easier to use blogger! Requires much less brainage! (yes, I do know that isn't a real word, but this is my blog, and I am not in school any more, so I don't care!)

He will be moving upstate soon, where it gets much colder than here, so he will need it. Hopefully, he will come home with a girlfriend too, he needs not to be alone anymore. Just hope this time he picks someone with HALF a brain! PLEASE! I will settle for half!! Stupid just won't cut it anymore.

That's all I can manage for now. More when I am able to drag my arse back here....

Happy New Year!

Since there isn't much knitting going on these days, I will bore you with these silly things!

You Are Teal Green

You are a one of a kind, original person. There's no one even close to being like you.
Expressive and creative, you have a knack for making the impossible possible.
While you are a bit offbeat, you don't scare people away with your quirks.
Your warm personality nicely counteracts any strange habits you may have.

Ummmm, 'ya think?

My Fortune Cookie told me:
When the camel says quack, it is time to check your drink.
Get a cookie from Miss Fortune

Or maybe it's time for you to STOP drinking, eh?? Considering the date, I thought this was pretty funny, but since I don't drink, at all - it doesn't apply to me!

Malabrigo....Oh my!

When ordering for Christmas presents, I decided that I was going to go all out for some of my favorite people and buy some merino wool. Having knit with Manos before and not cared for the thick and thin nature of it AT ALL, but loving the softness and colors of the wool, I asked at my favorite online store if they had anything that was like that yarn, but that was a bit more even.

They said yes, and pointed me in the direction of their Malabrigo This stuff is heaven in a skein! It's soft as Cashmere, even and easier to knit and the colors are just beautiful! Not to mention, you get great yardage for your money too!

I warn you, gentle readers, RUN, don't walk, and get yourself some of this yarn before everyone realizes just how wonderful it is and it sells out all over the US!

I am really looking forward to starting the scarves I am going to knit with this yarn! I am going to ask for Santa to buy me some of this so I can make myself something with this after the Holidays. Yummy!!!!!!
